West Vancouver: The Place That Shaped Me
I was born and raised in West Vancouver and have been fortunate to call this community home my entire life. I attended Westcot Elementary School and graduated from Sentinel Secondary.
My husband, Craig, and I raised our two children in Dundarave. I built my business here, built my life here, and have spent my entire life as part of this community. We now live in the Park Royal area.
West Vancouver isn’t simply where I live - it’s home. I understand what makes this community so special because I have experienced it firsthand, as a child, a parent, a business owner and a longtime resident.
Now, I want to give back to the community that has given my family so much and help ensure West Vancouver remains a place where future generations can build their lives too.
My Career
My career has been built around creativity, entrepreneurship and, most importantly, people.

I received my diploma in Fine Arts from Langara College and later graduated from the North Vancouver School District’s Interior Decorating Certificate Program. In 2005, with the encouragement of family and friends, I took the leap of starting my own interior décor styling company, Rebecca Decorates!
Building my own business has taught me the value of listening, understanding different perspectives and finding practical solutions that work for each individual client. I love the challenge of creating beautiful, functional spaces that reflect a client’s unique lifestyle while respecting their priorities and budget.
But for me, the most rewarding part of my career has always been the relationships. I have been fortunate to build lasting connections with my clients and to see how the spaces we create together continue to enrich their lives for years to come.
My business has given me more than a career - it has given me a deep appreciation for community, collaboration, creativity and the importance of listening.
MISSION STATEMENT
Protect What We Love. Build What We Need.
My mission is to help build a West Vancouver that protects what makes our community special while thoughtfully preparing for the future.
I believe in a community that is beautiful, attainable, vibrant, well-run and welcoming - where families can stay, seniors can age in place, local businesses can thrive, and future generations have an opportunity to call West Vancouver home.
That means getting the basics right, supporting thoughtful development, protecting our neighbourhood character and natural environment, and bringing more life and energy to our waterfront and villages.
Most importantly, it means listening. Listening to residents, families, seniors and businesses and making practical, responsible decisions based on what is best for West Vancouver today and for generations to come.
I was born here. I built my life here. I raised my family here. Now I want to help build a West Vancouver where the next generation can do the same.
